Video screen for Lego windows

I’ve been searching for a long time for a screen that I can use to display videos or images in my LEGO city as an advertising billboard. Ideally, it should fit within the frames of LEGO windows. Currently, I print out pictures on paper and insert them into the windows. It would be fantastic if I could upload content via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi without having to disassemble the windows every time—or alternatively, with a hidden cable. However, I haven’t been able to find a screen that matches the required size.

And yes, that's a nickel on the table next to the screen.

2001: a space odyssey - 1/8 Moebius POD build

Dears!

So glad I found you.

Just received the Brickstuff 0.96 OLED (with programmable content) for testing it size-wise on the 1/8 Moebius model, which I am starting around May ´22....

The challenges are many (especially with no previous building experience with regs to this particular model - so I do not know what fitting horror may lay beyond :-) ):

a) there are six stamp-size monitor fields in plastic: 4 x 16mm x 16mm and 2 x 14mm x 14mm & there is no perfect fit with any available screen, so workarounds need to fit larger ones into the space available (and the content paned accordingly.

c) but also in the space available below the surface! That's why the 0.96 OLED is a hard bargain with regs to the large plate and slot board

d) the slot board though has the advantage of programming individual content (which I have ready and waiting now)

SO.... some concrete questions and remarks I am happy for any input to:

a) am I right? no perfect screens available, or?

b) 6 individual 0.96 Brickstuff OLEDS mean 6 times energy and mechanisms outside, and according cabling; There is no integrated system option available, right?

c) I wanted to actually take 6 OLEDs 0.96 and make the best of things, status today... any suggestion?

All the best to ya all!

I have several movies on my computer that were given to me in ".exe" format that I need to convert (using the suggested cloudconvert.com software) into ".mp4" files for use with Brickscreen but cloudconvert does not support video in ".exe" format to do the conversion. Other than trying to rebuild these videos from the original mp3 clips, can you recommend (hopefully freeware/shareware) a program or technique that is available to change/convert the file extension from ".exe" to "mp3, .mov, quicktime or other"? (running Windows 10/64). Thanks.

HUD Screen Inside the Freewing A-10 80

We did a quick test today using a stock Freewing A-10 80 cockpit to see how our HUD screen would fit. Originally I expected the 0.96" screen would fit better but as it turns out the 1.44" screen fits perfectly with just minimal modification to the cockpit. Attached are some photos of our test installation, and you'll see why we're calling this a very QUICK installation (we didn't make it the neatest setup, but you can get a sense of how it fits and what mods need to be done).

For a quick demonstration of the HUD in action, check out this video:

BrickScreen Introduction

In 2018, we began working with small organic LED (OLED) and LCD video screens as yet another way to add interest to LEGO models. We published some videos of our early screen designs, and these were received extremely well by the community. We also began getting e-mails from R/C airplane modelers, cosplay designers, and scale model builders, asking for screen designs aimed at their interests and the amazing things they created.

Thus was born the idea of "BrickScreens"-- small, full-color video screens that played various video simulations for use in models. To support this new line of products, we have developed relationships with animators and creative designers around the world so we could create original, high-quality video animations to be loaded onto the screens.

Most of this work has been taking place behind the scenes, as our primary business is still lighting and effects. Now, in early 2019, we are almost ready to launch BrickScreens officially. We hope modelers of all types around the world will find the screens helpful ways to bring their creations to life.

We've created this category in our user forum as a place to have discussions about the products. I realize it's hard imagining what these screens will look like and what they will do without seeing photos and videos-- those are in process, and we want to make sure we have all aspects of the product ready to go for the launch. We're planning to have the first series of screens ready for launch in early March 2019, but there are already beta customers using the screens for their models today. Keep an eye on this forum for more information about how they are using them, and let us know if you have any suggestions for videos and interfaces you'd like to see us create.

While the history of our company is closely tied to the LEGO community, I believe BrickScreens will be used by modelers of all types.

Stay tuned, sign up for this Forum, and subscribe to this topic to keep up with all the latest news. I think you're going to love our screens!
