LED Filament In Longer Lengths

Your LED filament is awesome.  Any chance you'll be getting longer lengths?  A meter would be super!  Thanks.

  • Thanks for the question, and I'm glad you like the filament!  We have been considering getting longer lengths, the main issue being that we need to order 1000pcs of every color we offer and I'm not sure the demand is there for that many pieces of filament that long.  I'm ready to be proven wrong, however!

The other issue with longer filament is that the voltage needs to be higher-- at least 12 volts, which isn't our standard system voltage.  We have been working on some higher-voltage drivers for special situations, so this may work.

What color(s) would you be looking for?  Not promising anything, especially with the global semiconductor supply shortage and associated price spikes, but let us know.

    Thank you.

Blue, red, white and green but I wouldn't put a dent in 1000 and I understand your predicament.  You run these through opaque flexible polyurethane tube and it glows beautifully; nearly like neon, and the LEDs lose all pixilation.  I was hoping to make signs with just a couple of strands but at 11" or so, it's just about a strand a letter.

Appreciate you taking the time to answer me!

  • Ken A No problem!  Of course there is also the option of soldering filaments together, end-to-end, to make longer sections.  Voltage needs to be increased (6v for 2 segments, 9v for 3, etc.) but it does work.  There is a small gap where two sections are joined, but perhaps this could be accommodated?
