LIGHTBARS!
Work continues on finalizing our new line of lightbars. Stay tuned for more info coming soon, but I wanted to share this photo showing the different configurations/colors we are planning at this time.
Note that with this new line of lightbars, colors will be set at the factory and cannot be changed. We do plan to accept custom orders for specific colors/combinations, but above is the list of what we're planning to offer in the initial round of products.

One question, would the cord that leads from the light bar to the power supplier need a 1x1 hole that is in the roof that would lead to the inside of the car with the power?

Logan McCain You won't need a 1x1 hole-- the wires that come out of the lightbar are thin enough that you can put plates/bricks on top of the wires, so you can run them right inside your vehicle without needing a stud hole.

There that thin? like they can fit in between my car door and my roof? you can see the open door in a photo I sent so you can see what i'm talking about. (By the way the roof is 2 studs thick. So the wire would have to go through a brick that looks like a upside down Minecraft stair.)

I did not know that wires could be that thin to fit in between legos. That's good to know how thin they are.

Rob Klingberg Curious to see how the development of these is going. Do you have a demo video yet? I recently started looking into neopixels and addressable RGB LEDs and the technology is fascinating. Do you have plans for a DIY / user programmable version?

Josh Thanks for checking in! At this point we have the LEGO parts drilled and ready for the lightbar flex PCBs. We also have the PCBs themselves in house, so basically it's down to me to finish testing the code and then we can assemble. I needed to finish up the code for our new and improved line of rotating beacons first, which is 95% complete. I'll be working later this week on the lightbar code, and am still aiming to post videos asap. We've had to shuffle our plans a bit as some of the parts/chips we use for the controllers have recently fallen off the face of the Earth thanks to the global semiconductor shortage-- this is a little like whack-a-mole except that instead of trying to whack the mole, you're trying to catch him so you can finish your circuit boards!

Rob Klingberg Thanks for the update! This chip shortage has been quite a nightmare, and with my recent interest in designing my own circuitboards I understand it on a whole new level. Will your new beacons fit under a 1x1 round tile by any chance? I could never find ones that do, so I went and designed my own. Should have a semi-functional prototype done in a month or so.

Josh Yeah, it's pretty crazy out there, supply-wise.
We haven't been looking at anything that fits under a 1x1 round tile. Is that just one light, or multiples? Would be interested in seeing what you've come up with.

Rob Klingberg as my design currently stands, I have 4 tiny LEDs per beacon. I have two designs, the first being single LEDs and the second being RGB. I did have to design a 3D printed, modified 1x1 plate to go underneath them to make it all work together which kinda makes it a bit tricky, however I think it could be done with a really 1x1 and a drill.

Are the red and blue light bar modes fast or slow? Is there a button that would change the speed of the lights?

I understand that the light bars have different modes, but I was wondering if one of the modes could have the speed changed.

Is everything going good? Its so far been like 4 years and 6 months since the video.....8 or so months since I found out about it.....I hope progress is going good, right?
