Hogwarts Castle

Hi Rob

I’m starting this build soon and have your fantastic lighting/sound kit ready to go

How  feasible is it do you think , to install the light kit as I go with the build, as just dismantling parts of the Monster Fighters Haunted House gave me nightmares 😂

Regards

Alan

Hi Alan, thanks for your note.  I think it could be done-- if I'm remembering correctly, the install steps are written roughly in the order the Castle was built.  I'd say, give it a go and let me know how it goes!  Thank you.

I’ve made a start. I’ve had to jump around a bit with your kit and the castle build instructions to do the lower level lights first. I’ve fitted the boat house lanterns, chamber of secrets lights and the green led at the base of the tower.  The nice thing about doing it this way is I can find my own routes for the cables and hopefully and hide them better.

    Regards

    Alan

Alan Overton Great work, and yes I agree doing it this way makes it easier to hide all wires.

Well, I think that’s everything fitted under the first part of the castle before I start building upwards.

First half completed.  No further issues to report 👍

Looking at the instructions, the second part looks quite involved 😂

All lights and wires installed before completion of tower tops.

No need to show wiring appearing from tower cones as everything hidden  lower down tower top.

Alan Overton Looking good Alan!  I'm impressed that you managed to fit all of those boards and wires in the tower tops!  Great work.

How did you hide the wires in the great hall?

Rob Klingberg If you look at the first video he posted though, I think he hid those wires different than the instructions, because I can't see the wires in-between the rows.

Tanner Saadi It's possible, we can't comment on specific customer installations or setups beyond what we provide with the instructions.

Rob Klingberg would putting the wire between plates side by side hurt the wire, or could this work for hiding the wires better?

Tanner Saadi It's tricky to say.  When you run wires between two plates side by side, the plates can act as little razor blades and slice the wires.  You can certainly try it-- there is a spare lamp like this in your Extra Parts bag, but anything beyond that that gets damaged will be up to you to purchase a replacement from us.
