Millennium Falcon Laser Cannon Sound Module question

I'm (finally) getting putting together the "Light my falcon" set. As I'm putting the Laser Cannon Sound Module Assembly. As I compare the actual Sound Module to the instructions, there's clearly a difference. The power cable is missing a black wire. (see pictures). It has a stub coming out of the connector, but no wire coming out of the red block. I'm assuming it can't work without the black wire, but that's an assumption. If it *does* need the black wire, I need a new Speaker and Sound Module assembly. (And I can't figure out how it says "QC Passed" on the box).
