Lighting building exteriors at microscale

I've been trying to figure how to do this for the past 1/2 year, and today I finally came up with a workable approach.  Building at this scale (~1:300) most lighting solutions are far to large...dwarfing the trees and cars.  However, this is small enough that you can suspend your disbelief and buy into it as reasonable.

Also has the advantage of not blocking (too much) the view of the building being illuminated.  Really happy to have something that I can use on all the buildings in the Mall.  YAY!

  • WRTyler What a fantastic solution!  Seeing these photos gives me some ideas to try out, to see if we can get the lighting self-contained inside that little pin end and even smaller. 馃槏

  • WRTyler  Rob Klingberg The way I figure it, you could use a 0603 or 0402 LED on a wire without the PCB and add a resistor towards the plug. that would probably fit this scale. I know from my personal projects that 4x 0402 LEDs can fit clustered inside a 1x1 stud area so just one embedded into that pin would work just fine.
