Hogwarts Custom Display

Hi everyone! I posted this on Instagram and Brickstuff kindly commented and encouraged me to post on the forum! This December I built a platform to hide the wiring better from the castle set and made it event better by adding the water and lots of painting and faux grass. The platform was fairly easy to construct in my little wood shop in my garage. After that, it was lots of positioning, painting, and a large learning curve using Mod Podge to make the lake. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do! I have to say, I didn’t think I could love this set more until I saw the lights reflecting in the water.

Gorgeous!  Absolutely gorgeous!  The wood base is a brilliant solution to dealing with the amount of wiring you are using...and the added grass and water really make it a top notch display.  (Like you, I love the lights reflecting in the water.)  Since this probably won't be displayed outside your home, can we have a LEGO event at your house so we can see it in person? [grin]  Kudos!!...SO well done!

  • Incredible work! I'm working on reassembling my castle with a base to hide wires as well. Taking the same route as another member here though and building 100% out of Legos. I don't think I have the skill to do the work you did! Amazing. Would love to see more of your work.
