Lighting for Harry Potter Series 1 set

Hello everyone,

I am looking for some help and would appreciate any advice possible. I have some H.P lego sets from my childhood that I want to turn into a lighting feature in my house rather than them being sold or just collecting dust in the attic. I know little to nothing about LED's or creating lighting for lego and I haven't been able to find any pre-made lighting kits for any H.P series. Thank you in advance

  • Hi Amber, thank you for your post!  We haven't lit any of the HP sets ourselves, but in general, our Starter Kits will address 95% of lighting needs in any standard LEGO model.  Last year we did do a simple diagram for another customer looking to light his Hogwarts Castle-- see the attached PDF for info about what we recommended.

In general, you will end up using a combination of our Pico LEDs  (which are small enough to fit under bricks and plates) and light strips.  The Pico LEDs are good for lighting little lanterns and other small detail areas of a building, while the light strips are good for lighting larger spaces or rooms.  Our starter kits include either light strips or Pico LEDs plus all the additional components needed to connect everything-- they're designed so you won't need any prior experience with lighting in order to start using them right away.  You can also buy Pico LEDs and light strips in packs of 2, so if you were to buy our Lighting Effect Starter Kit (which would give you six Pico LEDs plus a lighting effect controller for making flickering effects), you could also pick up a pack or two of light strips, so you had a mix.  All of our products work together, and you can run 100 or more LEDs from the battery pack that comes with our Starter Kits.

I hope this information is helpful-- please let me know if you have any additional questions.  We work with "first-time" lighting customers all the time-- all of them quickly see how easy it is to work with our lights.

Thank you for your interest in our products.

Thank you very much for your reply! It was extremely helpful and detailed, which I appreciate very much. The pdf was great help and I will be looking into buying some of the sets from your website in the near future.

    Many thanks again

    Kind regards
