I saw on facebook that you were considering a lighting kit for the MegaConstrux Halo energy sword, and that it's on the roadmap for 2022!
I just got this CyberTruck for Christmas: https://creations.mattel.com/products/mega-tesla-cybertruck-gww84
Problem is, it's screaming for lights and no one is doing a kit (or even just instructions) for it!
Hi, and thanks for your post. What a great-looking model-- I love that they also have the broken windows. :-)
For this kit, honestly I'd say you could use our Vehicle Headlight Kit. That has two lights with an option to add two more, so you could pick up a 2-pack of Pico LEDs (warm white or red) and add those for the rear. The model looks fairly large, so maybe expand a little and go with our Pico LED Starter Kit instead-- this has 8 lights and a battery pack, so you could put lights under every transparent part in the kit, I'd think.
It all depends on how far you want to go with the lighting. Have a look at these ideas and let us know your thoughts!
Thanks for the suggestions.
I'll have to build it first to measure it, but I'm not sure about the headlights, they seem to be 'spot' lights and bulky. Cybertrucks lights are lines:
I see you have some cool flexible filament (can this be cut?) and rigid (?) filament. If it fits, I could see those possible looking very good.
Does that seem reasonable?
Ah, ok, thanks for the clarification. I was looking at the Mega kit and seeing a lot of red pieces, but now looking back at it again I see the clear parts. Yes, the filaments might be an option here, though they cannot be cut at all. You'd have a lot of masking work to do, covering up parts of the filament where you didn't want light showing through. And I see the kit uses a lot of clear tiles on top of plates-- with these, you wouldn't be able to get the filaments underneath but would need to place them behind the side, then mask. It would be a more difficult installation, and again I think the masking part would be the hardest part.
Sorry, I wish there was an easier solution for the out-of-this-world design of the Cybertruck!
