LEGO Creator Back To The Future DeLorean Set (#10300)

I know this set isn't supposed to come out till April 2022, but have you thought of any ideas for the new future Lego Creator Back To The Future DeLorean Set? If it's anything like the Ecto-1 light kit, I bet it will be AMAZING!! This is what I was thinking:

  • Wires on the outside light up whitish/blueish like when it hits 88 miles an hour
  • Sound effects of car going through "time"
  • Song "Back in Time" or sound card to add own MP3
  • Working Flux Capacitor and lighting of time circuits
  • When the doors opening have the "whoosh" sound and if have "Mr. Fusion" have the sound when opening and closing
  • Interior lighting

just some thinking, I know it's still a long ways away.

Thank you.

Hmm, Rick's list of suggestions made me wonder.  When creating light / sound kits for models, does Brickstuff need to be aware of (and work around) copyright issues?  Never considered that before.  TLG would have worked out licensing for the model, but that wouldn't extend to third party add-ons.  Hmmm....

  • I see your point on the copyright issues. Maybe can't get the song or theme, but maybe include a sound card like with Ecto-1. With Ecto-1 you had the siren that was distinguishable, but with the Delorean, it's going to be like the whine of the car or something like that.

  • Rick rivera Yes I think we can definitely cover sound effects, and it seems we could also include a sound module where customers could load their own additional sounds and/or music.

  • Hi everyone, just a quick update as the BTTF kit is launching this Friday from LEGO.  We've already spent waaaay too much time watching build videos on YouTube to see how the various parts fit together, and I think we're going to be able to include some pretty dazzling and unique features into our light and sound kit for the set:

    1. Real glowing bars around the car in the right areas.
    2. A real Flux Capacitor with animated lights, basically a smaller version of our current kit.
    3. Just last night I finished the design for a prototype of a must-have part of the car that I can't believe LEGO left out.  See if you can guess:

I'm so excited about this kit!

  • Rick rivera Nice guess, and I wish we had enough room to actually show digits in the circuit, but the scale of the LEGO set is too small.

Rob Klingberg Hey there Rob… any estimate on when your BTTF DeLorean kit is going to be ready? I’m so excited based on what you’ve said above as far as what you have planned and the wait is killing me. Of course I don’t want to rush perfection, so take your time… would just love to know when it will be available. Thanks!

  • Does you flux capacitor fit in the 2022 delorean?

  • Raymond Fiumara Hi, our current model does not but we've made a new one that does!  Had to make it one stud narrower.  We'll post a video here soon showing the newer one, along with details about our light and sound kit for the Delorean itself.

  • Rob Klingberg  coming off a successful Cinderella Castle lighting experience... moving on to cars and have a Delorean and Ecto-1 on the way.  Would love to do them both up and found this thread.  Any updates on plans for the BTTF because the Ecto-1 looks pretty good (and even cleaner with a LiPo mod... I went way off the script on the Castle during my "war on preventing wires showing")

Rob Klingberg It's been about a year since we heard anything... you folks still thinking of developing a kit for the BTTF Delorean set?

  • Nick H. Hi Nick, we're using our blog to keep people updated on our kit plans.  Head on over to https://blog.brickstuff.com and make sure to subscribe so you get the latest updates.  I think we're going to have to push the Delorean back, largely because of the need to make a custom flex board for the flux capacitor that's 3 studs wide vs. the 4-stud version we made back in 2020 for the Brickvault Delorean.
