Cable wire without the ends

I'm a little new to the lighting of Lego and i saw that you had the 50 ft of wire with the open ends for using for our own connecting cable. My question, is it difficult to put the ends for the extension cable to the open wire?

  • Hi Rick, thanks for your question.  It is not possible to manually add the ends to the wire, which is why we sell cables with a plug on one end and open wire on the other.  We have these for both our standard-size plugs and our Pico plugs:

With either of these, you could use two (one on either end) and any length of the twisted wire in between.  You'd just need to splice the wires together and you'd have your cable.

If you'd like us to make the custom cable for you, we can do that as well for a small extra charge.  Just let us know.  Thank you!

Do you guys have a Pico extension cable, to extend a pico light without the use of boards? Splicing together the itzy bitzy cables is not easy :(

  • FWalker Hi, we specifically do not have this cable for technical reasons (long story short, small connectors are only used in our system where there is not power to drive hundreds of lights, so if we had a small-to-small connector wire it would be possible to damage some of our controllers that were not designed for use with large numbers of lights).

We can make custom cables for you if needed-- just let me know what you need.

    Thank you.
