Hiding a Billboard controller box

Hi all,

I've been working on a new show layout and I wanted to include the Brickstuff Billboards but hiding the controller box was daunting.  I came up with this idea, the circuit board is attached to a 2x4 tile with 2 foam squares.  The end with the buttons and switches is what is hanging out of the back side of the building.  I also tap into power from the road just like I do with my buildings.

This will be on display at Nebraska Brick Days at the end of this month and BrickWorld WI next.

Hope it provides some inspiration for others!

  • Great setup and great advice as always, Jim!  Thank you for sharing.  Looks like you have a great solution-- I look forward to seeing it later this month at Brick Days!

One word of caution to others considering Jim's approach: the circuit board uses a high-voltage converter, which is needed to light up the billboard.  This voltage is not dangerous, but you can get a shock if you touch the bare points on the circuit board once removed from its housing.  Just work carefully and only touch the bare circuit board when the power is turned off.
