If you're comfortable soldering, you can buy the flex filaments and also a spool of our magnet wire, solder one end of the mag wire to the far end of the flex filament, then run it down the filament to the other end, where power connection can be made.  We're hoping to have a video up showing how this can be done.  When the filament is on, you can't see the mag wire.
